Companion in death

Purpose: Bedside companionship and respite care for family.

What to expect: Routine visits could include reading your favourite books, guided meditations, compassionate conversations, and simply bedside company

Cost: £25 per hour  

*This program is purely for those seeking company and not tangible end of life work (see programs below)

Passages

A multi-session holistic care program with detailed exploration into end of life (EOL) planning

Purpose: This programs helps people come to terms with death, gain insight, generate meaning, reduce fear, prompt action, and provide support in navigating logistical decisions at the end of life.

What to expect: Each program begins with an Initial Meeting (#1), and from there we can build your own personalized program based on how my services (below) meet your wishes:

1. Initial meeting to understand the needs of the dying 

2. Circle of care meeting (with chosen family and/or family of origin) 

3. Logistical EOL Planning: 

  • Developing a holistic end of life care plan

    • Understand medical needs and comfort supports

    • Understand emotional needs and end of life wishes

  • Supportive guidance through documentation

    • Directing to resources for wills, Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), Advance Decisions to Refuse Treatment (ADRT)

  • Identification of resources: From community/government resources, to music therapy, online support groups, spiritual support, funeral directors and professional legal aid

  • Explore options and decisions for after death: Funeral homes and disposition options; create a list of contacts to be notified after death; arrangements for your belongings and pets.

  • Care Coordination: We will discuss who is going to be supporting your care, and develop a guide to aid them in meeting your needs

4. Emotional EOL Planning: 

  • Meaning & Life Review 

  • Legacy/Remembrance Project 

  • The Dying Experience: Exploring Fears & Myths of Dying 

  • Letter writing, arranging photo albums 

  • Explore contemplative practices including meditation, visualizations, mindfulness, guided imagery and breathwork 

5. Creating sacred space

  • Planning a vigil

  • Exploring ceremonies and rituals that serve you, such as living funerals

  • Locating appropriate spiritual support

Cost:  £30 per hour

I have built my business on service, support and an open approach. I charge a fee for what I do best, which is the service I provide through time.
